World of Nevus - World at Large
Continent - Moravia 1/3
Official Name: Merchantile Republic of the Granysean People
Shortened: Granysea
Capital City: Neo-Asgard City
Government Form: Constitutional Republic
Leader: Alfred Cofferton
Architecutre: Neo-Classical
Climate & Terrain: Temperate. Comfortable mid 70's most of summer and low 50's in winter. Mountainous eastern shores, jungle-ridden west coast and vibrant grassy plains in central
Demographics: 54% Male, 46% Female
Gender Roles: Males are on the forefront of society. Primary providers for their women. A male's worth in the eyes of a woman is how well he can keep his cash cow alive. Women take part in commerce as well. Often as serving out samples and glamorized in their merchant husbands' wares. Younger girls often act poster girls, using charms to attract customers. Granyseans tend to travel abroad more than any other.
Ancient History: Formerly the Kingdom of Valjaller, it's been said the first peoples emerged here and migrated south and said it was the first piece of land formed by the roots of the Great Mother Tree and the birthplace of Manatechnology. Valjaller was the home of Sularin, the Hero Priest of Righteousness who lead the forces in Ragnarok against his corrupted brother, Eruzael, the Hero Priest of Balance. Valjaller was the last of the three great kingdoms to succumb to the end of civilization, with Sularin fighting to his dying breath to preserve civilization as it had been known before the assumed death of the Mother Tree.
Nearing the end of the Dark Ages, evolving Valjallerans merged with migrating Midgardian nomads that would eventually blossom into Granysea, with their capital near the ruins of Asgard City.
Politics: Kingdom of Regnum Nivibus - Stalwart ally. Granysea shares a military and economic alliance with this country, and mutual open borders. In ancient times, Granysea was initially hostile, trying to covertly incite revolutions until they nearly bankrupted themselves. Nivibus shared some of their mineral wealth and thus produced powerful ties.
Great Firlandic Empire - Peaceful on the surface, wary to the point of hostility underneath. Firland is one of Granysea's largest trading partners, but constant mistreatment of people keeps relations strained. The trading opportunities is what initially kept Granysea out of the Second Pankosmian War, but did see Firlandic conquest of Regnum Nivibus as a dire threat to their own borders. They stood ready to join the war on Nivibus's side, but were glad Nivibus was able to repel the invasion.
Pastorian Tribal States - Granysea has a pact with the Pastorians and are profiting off of the genocidal war with Aldaeas. Granysea sells weapons to the Pastorians to defend themselves, and helping to cement a stalemate in the war.
Aldaeas Federation - Granysea is morally hostile towards Aldaeas for their "Spartanist" views on society. Granysea will not denounce Aldaeas, nor will they conduct any trade with them.
Holy Crezanti Theocracy - Granysea keeps religion out of their domestic and foreign affairs, but shares a special pact with Crezanti to help move valuable religious relics - for a good price.

Continent - Moravia 2/3
Shortened: Nivia
Alternate: Kingdom of Rivera
Capital City: Archangel City
Government Form: Hereditary Monarchy
Leader: Akili Leonheart the Siegebreaker
Architecutre: Medieval French, Victorian England
Climate & Terrain: Temperatures never rise above 32 degF. Near constant snowfall. Cities nestled in mountain valleys, with several provinces defining their borders on these mountain ranges. Other provinces define borders by rivers. Was considered Nevus's largest desert until Firland overused manatechnology.
Demographics: 86% Male, 14% Female
Gender Roles: Males dominant society, due to their being so few pure Nivian women. Men take on most roles, including professions normally dominated by women. Nivian women are high maintenance, unable to tolerate ambient temperatures higher than their native region. Vice versa, Nivian women are among the most powerful faith healers in the world.
Nivian people pair off by means of instinctual need far more than emotional. Nivians are incapable of interbreeding. Females possess a charm that compels a male to bond with her, eventually marrying if they are compatible enough. It's ultimately left up the female to choose her partner, but it's up to the male to prove his worth to her through a set of Courtship Trials. Despite how it sounds, it's never harrowing. Unless the girl has a overprotective father.
Ancient History: Formerly the Kingdom of Midgard. This country was vastly green, veined with crystal blue lakes and sapphire rivers. This has been said to be the result of the lively Great Mother Tree at the center of the country. The 10 World Goddesses have been known to appear before people in Midgard more than anywhere else. Midgard is home to Kiel Lathos, the Hero Priest of Chaos who aided Sularin in Ragnarok against their corrupted brother, Eruzael, the Hero Priest of Balance. With civilization collapsing, Kiel united the three kingdoms into a single continent-wide Empire, only for it to collapse and split back to their original forms a few centuries later to war with Sularin. Though there is no proof, Kiel is blamed for destroying the last vestiges of hope to preserving civilization as it had been known.
Through the Dark Ages, the evolving Midgardians remained in the now ruined and frozen wasteland, keeping to themselves and praying to the assumed dead Mother Tree until they evolved to a offshoot of human, unable to procreate with others outside of their race. The Tribal Tundran people founded Florinium and waged a series of wars with other tribal societies, and taking land until it became known as Regnum Nivibus. Weakened from the wars, the Great Firlandic Empire invaded and conquered the budding nation, using the subjugated people to harvest bits and pieces of the Mother Tree until they rebelled and chased the Firlandics out, and gaining more territory until it their national borders were defined when snow became grass and dirt. Florinium was later renamed Archangel City to celebrate the miracle win against a vastly superior power.
Politics: Republic of Granysea - Stalwart ally. Nivibus shares a open border military alliance with this country. Nivibus was initially hostile and felt they couldn't trust Granysean "snake oil." Because Nivians didn't solely rely on material wealth, they were able to resist Granysean attempts to subjugate the country through trade and civil disorder instigation. As Granysea nearly bankrupted itself, the Nivians took pity and shared their mysterious Glacite minerals, saving the country and paving way for one of the world's most powerful alliances.
Great Firlandic Empire - Nivibus has a cease-fire agreement with Firland. The two nations have been historic enemies for thousands of years and fought numerous small border conflicts and three historically massive wars. All contact between the two formally ended following the Empire's failed second attempt to invade and conquer the country.
Pastorian Tribal States - Nivibus's relation with Pastoria is a mystery. On the surface, they are friends, but Nivibus does nothing to aide the endangered nation from destruction. Nivibus is often criticized for abandoning an ally. However, the two countries don't share a military alliance.
Aldaeas Federation - Nivibus does not have formal contact with this nation. Due to the Aldaeans "Spartanist" society, they consider them a threat to the young Nivian Princess. War is feared to be on the horizon, but Nivibus knows they won't risk war with two more nations.
Holy Crezanti Theocracy - Nivibus and Crezanti are spiritual kin. They are friendly, but do not share any pacts. Nivibus's borders are open only to Crezanti travelers who have pilgrimage passes.
Re: Continent - Moravia 3/3
Shortened: Firland
Alternate: Phoeland
Capital City: Tyrhaven
Government Form: Absolute Monarchy
Leader: Calisto LeBane
Architecutre: 1900 England with steampunk & sci-fi elements
Climate & Terrain: High temperatures above 80 degF most of the year with some months falling to 60 degF. Dead, arid landscape due to overuse of manatechnology. Scorching deserts inside mountain valleys cut off the nation between east and west. Southern areas of the nation hold rivers of lava and volcanic activity, making it inhospitable. Fresh water lakes and larger patches of greenery can be found near Tyrhaven due to overclocking manatechnology.
Demographics: 66% Male, 44% Female
Gender Roles & Society: Firlandic men dominate every aspect of life in the country, including their women. When children reach school age, they are indoctrinated (something they are so proud of, they will openly call it indoctrination) into Firlandic global supremacy. In mid-teen years, boys are tested in the fields of physical and mental capacity. If the boy is strong, he will be placed in the military or other hard physical labor profession. If highly intelligent, he will be a scientist. Street smart, trained in politics. While girls are trained to be nothing more than house wives. When she comes of age, she is taken from her family and given to a soldier or other high-end trade professional. Or a group of soldiers if she is defiant.
If any of the children fail in their tests, they are thrown out of society to live in the slums where they will be subjected to horrible conditions, such as polluted water sources and guards occasionally luring in local monsters for the slummers to fight for food.
Ancient History: Formerly the Kingdom of Nifflheim. This country was known for its ashen-grey mountains and surreal landscapes of twisted trees and odd-colored grass. The ancient people of Nifflheim were reclusive but were generally friendly with outsiders. Nifflheim was home to Eruzael, the Hero Priest of Balance.
It was previously assumed that a plague wiped out most of Nifflheim's population, but it was revealed that Eruzael invented Necromancy, the Balance of Life and Death and tested the magic on the population, raising them into undeath. The plague lie was used on one of the Goddesses, Crystyl of Winter and Competition, tricking her into a forced alliance and plunging the world into massive blizzard and a war that will end civilization.
Eruzael's plan to replace the Mother Tree as the sole God-like figure was put to an end when he was defeated by his brothers, Sularin and Kiel.
Afterwards, there wasn't much of life worth living left in Nifflheim and left as a desolate land for a few thousand years until the evolving peoples retook the land and sought to rebuild Nifflheim from the ground up. Uncovering lost manatechnology and reverse engineering, and finding very useful resources once lost, Neo-Nifflheim eventually became Phoeland, taking their name from the Phoenix, and later officially becoming the Great Firlandic Empire as its power and influence began to very quickly spread to all three of the major continents, conquering one budding nation after the other until it was one of six sole super nations remaining.
Politics: Republic of Granysea - There is a peace of convenience with Granysea. Firland desires to rule it, but it would prove difficult with Nivibus in the way. The two almost went to war when a Firlandic warship attacked and sunk a Granysean flagship.
Kingdom of Regnum Nivibus - Firland and Nivibus are historic enemies. A song of fire and ice. Firland once held Nivibus as a province to harvest the mana-imbued roots and bark from the Mother Tree, but lost the country to a rebellion. There has never been a true peace treaty between the two.
Pastorian Tribal States - Firland completely forgot that Pastoria existed somehow. There is no communication of any kind, and the nation is never brought up in discussion in schools.
Aldaeas Federation - Firland and Aldaeas are strong allies, but are also not so. Aldaeas thinks they are stronger while Firland thinks otherwise. Firland provides some aide to Aldaeas in its war with Pastoria.
Holy Crezanti Theocracy - On the surface, Firland respects Crezanti, but nothing more. Behind the scenes, Crezanti is under a pro-Firland and Erulean Pope.
Continent - Mittlepunkt 1/2
Shortened: Pastoria
Alternate: Ancient Pastorian Tribal States
Capital City: Staremiasto
Government Form: Democratic Shamanism
Leader: Archshaman Clotho
Architecutre: Undefined
Climate & Terrain: Temperate. Comfortable mid 70's most of summer and low 50's in winter. Outer frontiers of the country are gorgeous flat grasslands and vivid clear field of vision to see the mountains of the eastern side of the continent. Mountainous western coast hides the nation's capital in dense jungle.
Demographics: 50% Male, 50% Female
Gender Roles & Society: The stereotypical gender norms are somewhat reversed in Pastoria. Due to the dire situation in Pastoria, women have active roles in the frontlines in the war, primarily as healers and archers. Men usually do what is needed of them.
Pastoria is made up of 37 major tribal states, each headed by a shaman. Each shaman shares a mental psychic link with each other, all connected to a single Archshaman. The government is democratic, but rather than voting in leaders, they vote on local, state and national projects. The construction of the capital city, Staremiasto, is one example of a national project that was voted on.
Ancient History: Nearing the end of the Dark Ages, the ancient peoples build sailing ships and set out from Moravia to discover new lands. Mittlepunkt was the first to be found and indigenous peoples were discovered. Ancient Moravians studied the pseudo-psychic powers of the ancient Tribal peoples and later intermingled. The Pankosmian faith was quickly picked up by the Pastorians, and the idea of unified communities sparked interest in them. It didn't take long for the Shamans of each of the 37 major Tribal states to establish mental links and brand themselves as the Confederated Tribal States of Ancient Pastoria.
Politics: Kingdom of Regnum Nivibus - Friend. Archshaman Clotho first sent a letter to King Akili, congratulating the birth of his daughter, 3 years before she was born. The Pastorians are saddened and feel somewhat betrayed by nations friendly with them, but they understand the need to keep the war from escalating.
Great Firlandic Empire - Neutral. The Pastorians care about Firland about as much as Firland cares about them. Which is not at all.
Republic of Granysea - Pastoria is allied with Granysea, and shares deep seated gratitude to the Merchantile Republic for their donations of arms and medical supplies.
Aldaeas Federation - Pastoria is in a brutal war of survival against their neighbors. The Aldaeans seek to destroy every last Pastorian in existence. There has not been any stated reason, so it's assumed the war is simple, "Because we can."
Holy Crezanti Theocracy - Pastoria respects Crezanti as a religious super power. There are no pacts.
Continent - Mittlepunkt 2/2
Shortened: Aldaeas
Capital City: Absteigand
Government Form: Warrior-chaste Hierarchy
Leader: Warchief Ybinad
Architecutre: Mudbrick & Greco-Roman Classical
Climate & Terrain: Arid, hot and windy. Civilization is built on mountain sides in step-pyramid formations. Warchief's throne room is simply a suspended open-air arena.
Demographics: Unknown, male majorty
Gender Roles & Society: Aldaean men have a more firm and dominant role than the Firlanders. Women are lower than second class citizens, only good for birthing the next generation, usually by force with random partners. Aldaeans idolize a warrior's spirit above all else.
Ancient history
Mittlepunkt was once a continent of no nations, littered with only small tribes. The barbarian warriors of Mittlepunkt were constantly at war with each other until until the decrease in their numbers began to increase.
An ancient warchief, Gargoh-el, made contact with the newly established Pastorian Confederacy seeking advice. Gargoh-el took this new knowledge of unification and brought it to his fellow warriors. Branded a weakling for suggesting peace, he challenged all tribes to a duel. He challenged all tribes to send him their best. If Gargoh-el wins, then the idea of a unified warrior state will be made.
The tournament was held at Mount Steigand, and Gargoh-el defeated all 150 warrior champions. By his honour, he declared the establishment of the United Warriors Federation of Aldaeas.
Politics:
Republic of Granysea - Aldaeas has limited formal contact with Granysea. Usually daring the Republic to get involved militarily.
Kingdom of Regnum Nivibus - Aldaeas is hostile. Threatening the nation's monarchs to birth a son to have the throne. Letting their only child, a girl, to become sovereign will be considered and act of war.
Great Firlandic Empire - Aldaeas and Firland are somewhat allied. They see the other as inferior but respect each other's totalitarian rule and will aide each other if either are threatened.
Pastoria Tribal States - Aldaeas is at war with this nation and refuses any peace negotiation. They seek Pastorian extinction.
Holy Crezanti Theocracy - Aldaeas wants nothing to do with weak dress-wearers.
Continent - Mond
Shortened: Crezanti
Capital City: Harmonja
Government Form: Democracy
Leader: Unknown
Architecutre: French Gothic
Climate & Terrain: Mild with many paths to cities defined by mountains flanking the roads. Nation is heavily forested, housing several under-developed tribes.
Demographics: 50% Male, 50% Female
Gender Roles & Society: Males due all general labor while their women tend to lighter labor on the home front. Most general stores are operated by women while the men supply those shops.
As typical for the Pankosminite faith, the majority of followers are female.
Politics: Kingdom of Regnum Nivibus - Friend. The two nations share a religious ancestry and are often in open contact, allowing pilgrims to move through each other's borders freely.
Great Firlandic Empire - Neutral on the surface. The two nations are secretly allied with the covert coup, installing a pro-Erulean Pope.
Republic of Granysea - The two nations stay out of each other's business.
Aldaeas Federation - Crezanti half-heartedly denounces Aldaeas for it's war.
Pastorian Tribal States - Crezanti seemingly ignores the nation's plight.
World - Dead Nations
Continent: Mittlepunkt
Located north-west of Pastoria, this was a small island nation that was the first to spring up in the Nevusian world renaissance, but soon vanished.
-----------------------
Official Name: Republic of Emersonia
Continent: Emersonia sub-continent
A large land-mass south-west of Moravia. As it entered the world stage, it was swiftly conquered and absorbed by the Firlandic Empire.
---------------------------
Official Name: Great Erulean Holy Empire
Shortened: Erulea
Capital City: Ola Ena
Conintent: Moravia
Founded by the revived hero priest, Eruzael, and built on the ruins of a conquered Regnum Nivibus. It waged a global war to subject everyone to a crippling ideology, eliminating individual identity and thought. It was successful in defeating Nivibus, Firland, and Crezanti, and badly crippling Aldaeas and Granysea. Pastoria was the only remaining haven for free peoples until Eruzael's defeat
With his death, Erulea dissolved and is succeeded by the Kingdom of Regnum Nivibus.
